A PROTEST. MELBOURNE, February 13. A deputation representing the Boiltrmakers' and Shipbuilders' Unions waited on the Federal Minister for Defence (Senator Pearce), and urged that firms should have a chance of tendering for the construction of the destroyers it is intended to have built. Although the Minister upheld the p oposal ot the Government to have the initial vessels constructed in England, the deputation expressed tbemsehes satisfied with the interview.
