OPAKI QUOITS CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. (Special to Wairarapa Age.) The fourth annual meeting of the Opaki Quoits Club was held in Mr T. Wyeth's woolshed on Tuesday evening last. There were fifteen members present, and Mr Wyeth (President of the Club) occupied the chair. The annual report was read by the secretary (Mr S. Tankersley). It was shown that the Club had a credit balance of £l. Twelve monthly competitions were held during the year, the average attendance being seventeen. The gold medal presented by the W.F.C.A., for the highest aggregate during the year, was won by Mr R. Hunt, who scored 681 points, Mr A. Reader being second with 587 points. Mr R. Hunt also won the president's medal for the most wins in monthly competitions, scoring 21 points, Mr Reader being second with 20* points. The Challenge Chain was won by Mr Tunnicliffe, with. Mr T. Chamberlain SGCGTICi. 'lhe following officers were elected for the ensuing year;— Patron, Mr ! A. McLeod; President, Mr T. Wyeth (re-elected); Vice-Preside..ts, Messrs D. Forman and H. H. Hunt; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr S. Tankersley' (re-elected); Captain, Mr J. Nicholson (re-elected); Committee Messrs E. Petersen, R. Hunt, H. Christensei., R. Tankersley, A. Reader (re-elected), H. Ducicett, N. Wyeth, president, vice presidents, and secretary ex-officio. | The Chairman, in a neat speech, | congratulated the Club on having had I a very prosperous year, and made reference to the keen interest taken by members in the working of the Club. He said that he intended to ■ donate another gold medal for com- } pe;ition on lines similar to the medal I he gave the previous year. | Mr Nicholson, the popular captain of the Club, also promised a trophy ' for monthly competition. I A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the donors for their trophies. Refreshments were provided by Mrs and Miss Wyeth and much appreciated, a vote of thanks being jpassed to the ladiis in connection therewith.
