WEDDING. Mr A. C. McFarlane, of the Wuodvilla Railway Station staff, was married to-day by Rev. Gardner, to Miss E. Hambling, at the residence of the bride's mother. Miss E. Brightwell was bridesmaid, and Mr L. Hambling best man. Mr and Mrs McFarlane will spend their honeymoonn in the South. GENERAL. There is some talk of starting a Druids' Lodge i:: Woodville. „ A meeting of dairy farmers was held in the Foresters' Hall, Woodvilla, to consider Mr G. Reeves' proposal to erect a cheese factory, beginning next season. The scheme met with general approval and the cheese factory is almost certain to be erected.
The Pahiatua Gun Club propose to 1-oli a shoot-off at Mr Geo. Oxley "s'on Wednesday, February 27th. Mr W. H. Hawkins has received a telegram from Winton, South Island, asking him to compete in the quoits competition at Easter. The first prize is £3O, and if possible Mr Hawkins intends to compete for this handsome prize.
At the local court this morning, two accused were brought before Messrs D. Crewe and J. D. Wilson, J.P.'s. One for drunkenness was convicted and discharged, and the other for having used obscene language was fined £2 and 9s costs. The annual picnic of the Hamua School will be held at Mr Galvin'a ground, kindly lent for the occasion on Friday next.
The "Kilties" Band will be publicly welcomed at the flagstaff on their arrival here to-morrow (Thursday) by His Worship the Mayor. After luncheon they will march from the Post Office to Mr Crewe's grounds, where the afternoon and evening performances will be given. Mr Clement Wragge's lecture last evening on the "Eternal Heavens" was much appreciated by a crowded house.
