TOjRjP NOTES,' w^ (8$ "Zetland") ~\T Theordore hasi' been sold to Mr E. J. Watt for 800 guineas. A match that is creating a considerable amount of interest is to take place at Feilding on Monday between the hurdle racers Paparaehi and Maidi. The stake i 3 £IOO, and the distance two miles over eight flights of hurdles, 9st up. Maidi will be ridden by E. Abbott, while W. Young will have the mount on Paparaehi. The Masterton ponies, Maid of AH Work and after Dark, are to be trained at Miramar until the end of the season. The acceptances for the Woodvilie meeting, to be held next week, are very satisfactory, and good contests may confidently be expected. In the Cup, of one mile and a quarter, winning form is represented by Moral, Moloch, White Lie, Vass, Woodhey, Sandstream and Glenullin. As practically all the ten contestants are in excellent condition, there should be a good contest. The President's Handicap will bring out Merrie Zealand, Osiris. Waikaraka, three winners at Trentham recently, and several other promising performers. The running of Waikaraka will be interesting, inasmuch as there is a difference of opinion as to whether he should have won at the Wellington meeting on the occasion of S» Reid bsing disqualified for his unsatisfactory riding of Consolation. The Telephone Handicap, five furlongs, will bring out about a dozer* brilliant sprinters. The top weight, Lord Soult, is returning to form,, Sunbonnet races well at this time of the year, while Kareroa, Merrie Rose, Golden Gate, Lochiela, Conquestina and Hydraulic are fast over the distance. Merrie Rose was not accepted for in the Cup, her owner preferring to try her over the shorter distance. The Hurdles and heck events have filled well, and as class is well represented, visitors will find the task of selecting winners ditli—cult. At Maryborough, James Russell has in work Merrie Zealand, Narcotic, and the Birkenhead—Merganser colt. A two-vear-old by Memo England—Mustella's dam will soon Jwi i the team to be out into work. Mr J. Orr hr>s Til son, Palestine, Friday and Siraband all looking well. Wi Hutana's Stepniak -Britomart filly ia still running out. Two thoroughbreds worthy of the attention of racing men ai'e adver—itsed for sale. One is a rising two-year-old filly by Merrie England— Eulalie, and the other is the same age by Merrie England—Waituiu.
