ANNEXATION OF OENO ISLAND.
FRENCH DISPLLASED. Received February 9, 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY. February 9. Advices from the Islands state ■ that French residents in New Caledonia and elsewhere are displeased with the action of Great Britain in annexing the Oeno Island, in the Low Archipelago, which was hitherto considered to bs within the French sphere of influence.
