PERSONAL.

The Rev. A. W. H. Compton, vicar of Mangatainoka, has been appointed warden of the Hadfield Memorial Hostel at Kelbutne. Since the hostel was opened last year, t he Ven. Archdeacon Fancourt has filled the position of acting-warden. Mr E. W. Berrill, for ths past eight years guard on the WellingtonNapier express, has received notice of his transfer to Wellington. Prior to coming to Napier he was for twelve years sanior guard at Masterton. He has now been promoted to the position of guard on the Main Trunk express.
