The Carlton and Masterton teams commenced a Senior Championship match on the Park Oval on Saturday last. Masterton won the toss, and stnt Carlton in on a bowler's wicket. LONDON, January 29. The newspapers generally infer that Hill's withdrawal from the team for England is due to the dispute with the Board of Control. Cotter, the New South Wales fast bowler, joins the team for England. The Board of Control has received no reply from Trumpet-, and has notified him that unless he accepts the invitation by Monday it will be assumed that he does not desire to join the team.
