CENSUS RETURN&Received January 29, 8.10 a.m. JNEW YORK, January 28. Including persons affiliated by family ties to members, whether they belong to the organisation or not, a census gives the Roman Catholic Church in the United States a total of 22,474,440 members. This total includes the Philippines and other islands undar the American flag. The nurabsr of Catholics in the United States proper is 14,235,451. LONDON January 28. The New York correspondent of the "Times" states that the statistics relating to the Catholic Church are useless for purposes of comparison, inasmuch as other churches enumerate their actual members.
