THAMES BY-EL SCTION. AMENDED RETURNS. By Telegraph—Press Association. THAMES, January 29. With several returns to come, the figures for the Thames by-election are as follow: " Taylor (G) 1305 Lucas (G selected) 835 Rhodes(G) 565 Deeble (0) 573 Haselden (0) 493 A second ballot will be necessary, the returns to come not being large enough to affect the position.
At the general election the poll resulted:—Hon. J. M'Gowan (G), 2869; E. Deeble (I), 836; 0. Mason (I), 291; F. W. Isitt (P), 120.
