(From Our Resident Reporter). Thursday. BOWLING. DIXON CUP. The contest for the Dixon Cup bc- " tween Pahiatua and Dannevirke took .place at Dannevirke yesterday afternoon, and after a close .and exciting game resulted in a win tor Dannevirke. Pahiatua were well in the lead at the 14th head, being 15. and laying 4. The Dannevirke skip played a wide bowl, Wicks ran in, and lay the shot. At the 21st head Pahiatua were 3 to the good, but the Dannevirke men played exceedingly well and, although a chance was gi\en the Pahiatua skip, he bowled short and a tie resulted, Dannevirke proving victorious in the play off. Dannevirke players who were present at the Napier Tournament say that no game in Napier was equal to that played on Wednesday.
