CRICKET.
VICTORIA v. NEW SOUTH WALES. Received January 27, 10.10 p.m. SYDNEY, January 27. The cricket match Victoria v. New South Wales was resumed to-day, the former team continuing their innings, which produced 468 runs (Rannford made 182 and McAlister 108). Seven bowlers tried to break the partnership between Ransford and McAlister. Then Barnes was nut on. He brought about the collapse of the Victorians quicidy, and secured four wickets for 19, and finally he had six wickets to his credit for 59. In the follow on Victoria lost two wickets for 120 (Armstrong not out 66, Smitn not out 20).
Received January 28, 12.30 a.m. SYDNEY, January 27. Clem Hiil has informed the Board of Control that he will not join the Australian team for England.
Playing for the Railway Audit Office against Cintra, on St. Luke's Park, Sydney, on January 19th, T. Foster made 126 (not out) in 48 minutes. The following is the United junior team to play St. Matthew's juniors on the Schoolground on Saturday next:—Hooper, Walker, Knowles, Fielding, Haviland, Higgs, Thompson, Minifie, Morton, Sandiford, Temple.
