RECENT EARTHQUAKES.
EXTENT OF COUNTRY DEVASTATED. Received January 27, 8.30 a.m. ROME, January 26. It has been officially ascertained that the recent earthquakes affected a hundred and eighty-four Calabrian and Sicilian towns and villages, naving a population of one million.
