GERMANY'S GROWING POWER STRONG NAVAL BASE ESTAB- . USHED. Received January 26, 8.25 a.m. VANCOUVER, January 25. Major Daniels, an American scientist, who has arrived at Vancouver from New Guinea, urges Britons to watch Germany's growing power in the Pacific. He states that a strong naval base has been established at Simonshaven, and the defences of the fort are quite formidable.
