THE WEEKLY HALFHOLIDAY.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 25. The Wellington Shopkeepers' Association passed a resolution to-day recommending that Wednesday be continued as the weekly half-holiday. Strong objection was taken to the effort that is being made by. the Trades and Labour Council to have the day changed to Saturday. It was stated that many of those persons who have signed a petition for the Saturday half-holiday are not electors, and that moreover the shop assistants do not desire a change.
