Received January 25, 8.46 aunROME', January 2il Several violent earthquake shocks, with subterranean rumblings, at Reggio, causing the collapse of walls, created a panic. Another disturbance of an undulating character at Messina greatly alarmed the people. European seismographs indicate an unknown earthquake,, possibly submarine, equal in force to that which recently occurred in Southern Italy.
