LORD NORTHCOTE.
RECEPTION BY THE AUSIKAL CLUB. LONDON, January 22. A reception given by the Austral Club in honour of Lord and Lady Northcote was attended by many exGovernors of colonial possessions and members of the nobility. The Countess of Oarnley, who received the guests, referred to Lady Northcote'a noble work smong ths women of Australia. Lord Northcote, in his reply, said } that he and Lady Northcote had spQiit | five of the happiest year 3 of thair ! life in Australia. EXCHANGE OF OFFICIALS. MELBOURNE, January 23. The Minister tor External Affairs (Hon. E. L. Batchelor) approves of Lord Northcote's suggestion for an exchange of officials between England and the Commonwealth.
