(From Our Resident Reporter). . Friday. PAHIATUA v. MANAWATU, The Pahiatua cricket team journeyed to Palmerston North to-day and played the Manawatu Wednesday representatives. Manawatu batted first and nt ud a'total of 135. Pahiatua responded vvitti 74. No byes were recorded in either innings, the wicket-keeping of W. H. The fortnighily meeting of Court Pahiatua, rf.O.F., wai held to-night, and was well attended, Bro. Swiggs, A.D , presiding. The quarterly report was read, and showed the Court to be in a strong financial position. The following officers were installed for the ensuing term.:—Bijo. Morris, B.A; Bro. Hall, A.D. V.; Bro. Hamling, V.A.D.8.; Bro. Yuia, Treasurer. Bro. Gillman, of Court Totara, Carterton, was the installing officer, to whom a hearty vote of thanks was accorded. Bra. Gillman delivered a short address, and urg?d the brethren present to make their motto progress. One new member was initiated. A highly successful picnic was held to-day by the combined Sunday Schools of the Presbyterian Church and Church of Christ. The picnic was held on the farm of Mr Robertson at Konini, where the children and their parents and teachers were conveyed free of charge in drags supplied by Messrs P. Girdwood and Cotter and Cashion. Severai of our local tennis players journeyed to Daniaevirke to-day to take part in the tournament bein,' held there.
