WELLINGTON R.C. SUMMER MEETING. ACCEPTANCES FOR SECOND DAY. The racing carnival at Trentham will be advanced a further stage today, when the programme includes such attractive events as the Wellington Stakes, for two and three-year-olds; the Racing Club Handicap, in which many of the Cup horses will again be seen under silk; the Metropolitan, a six furlong race, which includes several brilliant sprinters; and the Duro Cup, of 250 sovs, which has attracted the smartest hacks in training. Very satisfactory acceptances have been received, and the six handicaps average twelve per race. Fourteen remain in the Wellington Stakes, and sixteen horses have been nominated for the Disposal Stakes, so if no others drop out, about one hundred horses will be seen in competition today. The following are the acceptances: — January Welter Handicap, of 200 sovs; 1 mile. —Bourasque 9.11, St. Aidan 9.9, Vasa 9.7, Wailethe 9.4, Lawn Rose 8.10, Valdimar 8.10, Kurawaka 8.8. Mungaroa Welter Handicap, of 100 sovs; 7 furlongs.—Osiris 10.2, Flingot 9.13, Knight Commander and Aorangi 8.10, Yosami 8.6, Parable 8.5, Aberbothock and Tauriae 8.0.
