WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD.
ANNUAL REPORT. By Telegraph —Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 18. The annual report of the Harbour :Board submitted to the annual meeting, to-day, reviews the year's work. The shipments of wool skins, hemp .and tow, amounted to 218,094 bale 3, which constitute a record. The wool was 19,127 bales better Hian in 1907, •but hemp decreased by 10 bales. Nine •per cent, of the exports were generai rgoods, and amounted to 1u0,135 tons, "the largest quantity " ye,t recorded. The shipping tonnage had doubled in •the past 10 years. One paragraph in the report states that taking tne accommodation and •despatch provided, and the amount of .work done lor ths charges levied, Wellington is still the cheapest port in the Dominion.
