By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, January 17. The Governor, in the presence of bishop Grimes, many Roman Catholic clergy and Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, this afternoon, laid the foundation stone of Nazareth House, an institution for the succour of the aged, the infirm and of orphans of all denominations. A collection was taken up at the conclusion, Bishop Grimes giving one hundred guineas, and the Governor and Premier ten guineas each.
