SCHEME OF IMPERIAL GENERAL STAFF. EVERY PROSPECT OF REALISATION. Received January 17, 4.30 p.m. LONDON, January 16. The Hon. Sir F. W. Borden, Canadian Minister of Militia and Defence, after a a series of conferences with Mr R. B. Haldane, members of the Army Council, and MajorGeneral Hoad, of Australia, told an interviewer that there was every prospect of realising the plan that the Imperial general staff had outlined at the Imperial Conference. There were certain difficulties relating to administration still unsettled, but the scheme was progressing, and the Army Council was in possession of the views of Canada and Australia, and was striving to formulate a definite plan.
