MERCHANT SENT TO GAOL.
Received January 15, 8.45 a.in. LONDON, January 14. Under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Samuel Harris, general merchant, Barbican, London, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for offering the clerk of a collecting firm money to declare that goods from Germany were below their value.
