TOURNAMENT AT NAPIER. By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, January 13. 1 The Bowling Tournament entered on the third day in brilliant weather. The greens continue to play splendidly. The outstanding features of the morning's play was the defeat of Carlton and Wanganui, both previously unbeaten, the former going down rather easily to Thorndon, whilst Manaia lowered Wanganui's colours. SEVENTH ROUND. Section A. Stratford 31 beat Waverley 17. Remuera 27 beat Bluff Hill 19. Pihama 33 beat Pahiatua 19. Victoria 26 beat Eltham 21. Waipawa 27 beat Turanganui 12. Masterton, after an interesting game, got the best of Karori by three points, the scores being—Masterton 17, Karori 14. Wellington was too good for Manaia, winning by 24 to 12. Feilding took the lead from Greytown after the 11th head, and won by 26 to 17. Kelburne just got home from Dannevirke by 19 to 18. Masterton had not much difficulty in winning their match against Greenmeadows, the scores being 28 and 19. Karori and Farndon had a very close game, and were 17 all. On the final head Farndon won the playoff by one point. Newtown lost to Patea by 25 to 16. Napier defeated Thorndon by 23 to 15. Hawera defeated Hastings by 23 to 20. Carlton 2G easily accounted for Palmerston 10. The game between St. John's and Havelock saw the former win by , 24 to 19. Hastings and St. John's tied with 23 each on the final head, but Hastings scored four in the play-off and won. Greenmeadows were successful m their match with Kelburne by 19 to 15. Uannevirke's win over Greytown was an easy one, the scores being 27 and 8. Nanier met their . first defeat at the hands of Palmerston by 23 to 21. Wellington defeated Gisborne by 30 to 26, after a very good game. Karori, who have not yet won a game, again tasted defeat, this time at the hands of Manaia, the scores being 20 and 15. Farndon secured a victory over Masterton by 22 to 18, and srored their third win during the day The game, Upper Plain and Carlton, and Thorndon v. Newtown, were easy things for the winners, as the scorps, 23 —13 and 30—11, show. Stratford defeated Waverley by 31 to 17. Bluff Hill met their first defeat at the hands of Remuera, who won by 27 to 19. Pihama accounted for Pahiatua very easily, scoring 23 points to their opponents' 10. The Victoria and Eltham game resulted in Victoria gaining the victory by 26 to 21. Turanganui were off their play in the game with Waipawa, who won by 22 to 12. Remuera defeated p etane by 29 to 19. Stratford beat Pihama by 23 to 14. Turanganui experienced little difficulty in defeating Pahiatua by 31 to 19, after an even game till the 14th head. Victoria defeated Waipawa by 21 to 16. Bluff Hill were in front all the way in their game with Eltham, and scored 23 to their opponents' 14. Waverley defeated Pihama somewhat easily by 21 to 17. Petane and Eltham played a close game, the issue being in doubt to the final head, but a strung cross wind interfered with Petane's last bowl, and the game went to Eltham by 24 to 21. Turanganui scored 24 to Stratford's 19. Bluff Hill easily defeated Waipawa. by 25 to 12. Victoria defeated Pahiatua by 24 to 15. The winners led practically all through.
