WOOL SALES.

THE QU/iNTITY AVAILABLE. Received January 13, 10.10 a.m. LONDON, January 12. For the wool sales the arrivals to date total 347,000 bales. There have been forwarded direct 157,000 bales, and there will be available for the sales 201,000. AUCKLAND SALES. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 13. The final wool sales of the season were held to-day, 7,2u0 bales, mostly coarse wool, being offered at the morning sales. Finer wools remained at about the same prices as the previous sale, the best price offered being IOJd for thirty bales passed in. Coarse wools showed a drop of a halfpenny to a penny. There was practically no demand for bushstained wool.

Prices generally showed a downward tendency, the American buyers withholding support principally on account of the bad get up and faulty packing of the woo!. Prices ranged for crossbred and halfbred B£d to lOd, medium crossbred and Romney 7|d to 9Jd, coarse crossbred and to 7d, inferior and stained 5d to 5.? : d, lambs 5Ad to S}d, and locks and pieces (in poor demand) 2d to sd. The top offer of the day was IOJd for a particularly choice halfbred line of 26 bales from the Waikato, but this was passed in.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable message from their London office, dated January 11th:— Wool: The list of arrivals is closed, and amounted to 347,000 bales, of which 157,000 bales have been forwarded direct to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving 200,000 bales available for sale, which includes 10,000 bales of old stocks.
