RACING. TURF NOTES. (By "Zetland"). Mr R. Knox's Lucretius has been entered for the Disposal Stakes and Selling Plate, to be run at the Wellington meeting next week. The successful "hack, Longner, for which a big price is reported to have been refused, is entered for the selling races at Trentbam. Recovery (late St. Charles) is to join the pony ranks, and will race at Miramar this week. Sir George Clifford's Husbandman is the ruling favourite at present for the Wellington Cup, to be run on Wednesday r.ext. The Wairarapa horses that will be seen out at the Wellington meeting on Wednesday are Moloch, Sunbonnet, Blue Ribbon, Osiris, Tumut, Lucretius, Merrie Zealand, Consolation, Pukewhai, and Axite. A recent addition to the pony ranks is Psyche, by Saracen —Roseminster. iVoral has been entered for the Sydney Cup, Champion Stakes, and Australian Cup. Quite a number of the Dominion's best horses will be racing on the other side during the autumn. The Maiden Plate to be run at Trentham on Wednesday will bring out well-known performers in Consolation, Merrivonia, Pellicle, Miss Mischief and iVlaiora. Capulet is said to be rapidly improving in condition, and it he remains sound is confidently expected to win races before long. The Rangitikei Racing Club incurred a loss of £129 over its New Year meeting.
