KANGAROOS BEATEN. Received January 13, 10.10 a.m. LONDON January 12. The Australian League footballers played a match against Batley, Yorkshire, to-day. Batley scored three goals and two tries (12 points) to the Leaguers' one goal and one try (5 points). Received January 13, 1.8 p.m. LONDON, January 13. Batley scored all their points in the first half. In the second spell Devereux scored an unconverted try, and kicked a penalty goal for Australia.
