CHILDREN'S TEETH.
With the principle of medical and dental examination of school children we heartily agree, but the duty of the State ends, in our opinion, when it has provided means for each parent knowing what treatment, if any, his child needs, says the Christchureh "Pi-3ss." Action on these lines must indeed be taken, unless the physique and mental capacity of New Zealanders is to deteriorate. It is within the power of the teachers, however, to do much towards bringing about the reform that is so necessary, and we are therefore glad that the Minister of Education has expressed his strong sympathy with the movement.
