TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES BEAT THE EXPRESS TRAIN PROM WELLINGTON TO NAPIER. An express train takes exactly 10 hours 25 minutes on the run from Wellington to Napier. Mr H. L. Schaeffer and Mr Hyslop left Wellington Post Office at 4.30 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at Napier Post Office at 1.9 and 1.43 p.m.respectively. Mr Schaeffer completed the distance in 8 hours 39 minutes, and Mr Hyslop in 9 hours 1,3 minutes; Mr Hyslop reached Dannevirke exactly five hours after leaving Wellington, and Mr Schaeffer only tooic five minutes longer. About five miles after leaving Dannevirke both riders had the misfortune to run over a tram-line which stood out about five inches above the road surface, with the result that they burst their back i tyres and badly dented their back rims. This caused a delay of upwards of 40 minutes. This performance was undoubtedly a very severe test on the material and construction of the Triumph motor cycle, and proves beyond a doubt the reliability of the machines. The pedals Were not used once. 1 and the machines simply romped up I the Rimutakas both on the high | gears. Mr E. Hyslop. the sole agenr | for Triumphs, can now give imme- ! diate delivery of the latest models. Trial spins arranged. Post Office Box, Hastings. 'Phone 319, Hastings.
