SURVIVORS OF THE EARTHQUAKE. BLUEJACKETS' WORK. Received January 12, 5.25 a.m. ROME, January 11. A woman and child were rescued alive at Messina yesterday. Bluejackets, uncU-r the direction o the British miliUry attache at Rome, extricated the body of Mrs Ogston, wife of the British Consul at Messina, who was killed by a failing balcony. The only building:-! at Reggio which remained intact were built on Dr. Capneci's plan in 190G—with hollow bricks, with vertical horizoral wires, giving great elasticity. SHOCKS LESS FREQUENT. Received January 12, 9.35 p.m. ROME, January 12. A boy five years of age has been rescued at Messina yesterday. The shocks are now less frequent, and efforts are being made to resume business. MANSION HOUSE FUND. Received January 12, 9.55 p.m. LONDON. January 12. The Mansion House earthquake fund now totals £85,000.
