Play was exciting in the second half. Russell scored a try by following up a high punt. Russell scored another brilliant try in the last minute after splendid passing by the threequartsrs. The victory was due chiefly to the splendid scrum work by the forwards, who almos'; invariably secured the ball, giving the threequarters many fine open-

ings. W igan (2 goals 2 tries) beat the Australian League team (the "Kangaroos"), 2 goals and 1 try. In the first half Messenger early kicked a penalty goal and converted a try by Walsh, Wigan scoring an unconverted try. In the second half Wigan added a goal from a try and a penalty goal.
