MASTERTON'S MUSEUM.

Some rather derogatory references to Masterton's store of minerals, birds qnd antiquities, which once comprised the Museum, but which have been stowed away in cases since the Public Reading Room was enlarged, were made by members of the Trust Lands Trustees, last evening. One Trustee declared that most of the exhibits were just about suitable for a good bonfire, as they had been packed away so long. Another Trustee referred to the exhibits as a "supposed collection," while a third carried the disparagement a stage further by suggesting to the Chairman, in the words of a modern comic song, to ''push them through the window." Finally it was decided to unpack the exhibits and ascertain in what condition they really were.
