MANY HIGH OFFICIALS
ARRESTED
ENORMOUS THEFTS. Received January 8, 8.20 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Jan. 7. A sensation has bean caused here by the arrest of many high officers, including the chief assistant of the St. Petersburg police, on charges of bribery and corruption. There has been an enormous number of thefts on the Russian railways, exceeding £200,000 at Vilna alone.
