LATE CRICKET.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA v. VICTORIA, By Telegraph— Association. Received January 7, 12.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, January 6. The cricket match Victoria and SouthjAustralia was resumed to-day. The wicket was slow after the three days' rain. South Australia, in their second innings, have lost nine wickets for 351 (Mayne not out 142, Claxton 35, Gehrs 75). OTAGO DEFEATS HAWKE'S BAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, January 6. The Otago—Hawke's Bay cricket match was concluded to-day in fine weather. Continuing their first innings Hawke's Bay had scored 144 when the last wicket fell. Otago then went in for the second time {having scored 340 in their first essay) and when six wickets were down for 164 declared their innings closed, leaving Hawke's Bay 360 to make to tie. This the local men failed to achieve, being all got rid of for 169. Otago thus won by 191 runs.
