VICTORIAN POLITICS.
Received January 7, 12.58 a.m. MELBOURNE, January 6. At a conference of parties opposed to the Labour Party, after a long wrangle as to the appointment of a leader eventually selected Mr Murray for the position. At the conclusion of the conference Sir Thomas Bent handed in his resignation as Premier to the Govenor, and recommended, that Mr Murray be summoned. The sugges • tion was accepted, and Mr Murray has undertaken the task of forming a Ministry.
