Mr Kemble Welch, well-known in Masterton, lias purchased a dental practice at tlie Hutt. He has alreaiy tpken over the bu.-;ine ;s. Mr S. H. Ussher, S'ock Injector at Masterlon, is* at piosent on a month's visit to Wellingi'M, on Dep.-' t.rneiitjl busiiiess. Ex-Inspector Macdonell.who finally letired from the New Zealand police on December 31st, will leave Napier this week for Wellington, where he iiite.uls to settle down.
Miss Mabel Burke, youngest stepdaughter of Mr Arthur Gore, late of Wellington, was married at St. Mary's Church, Waipukurau, on Monday, to Mr Frank Donnelly, eldest son of Mr li. L. Donnelly, of Matigahaone statbn, Hawke's Bay. The bride's late father (Mr Ulic Burke) was for some years manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Napier.
The death is announced of Mr Janes Collins, owner of Homewood Station, Kaikora (Hawke's Bay). The deceased, who was 73 years of age, was a well-known breeder of Romney sheep. He arrived in Hawke's Bay 40 years ago. In his early days he was a teamater, and his was the first plough used in the province. He recently donated a £IOO shield for competition in rifle shooting.
