OTAGO v. HAWKE'S BAtf.
tfy Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, January 5. The cricket match Otago v. Hawke's Bay began to-day on a splendid wicket and in beautiful weather. Otago made 340, Captain Wilson playing a fine innings for 188. Hawke's Bay have eight wickets down for 95, and a one innings defeat seems imminent.
Wilson has been playing well during the tour. He made 144 against Auckland.
The following will represent the Rival Cricket Club against W.F.C.A. Cricket Club on Thursday next on the Park Oval No. 1 wicket —Thompson, J. Wickens, Gray, F. Wickens, Lomas, Dwyer, Morris, Edwards, Barr, Kingdon, Waters; emergency, Hatch. The following is the Carterton Thursday Cricket Club team to play the Carlton Club at Masterton tomorrow:—A. Feast, T. E. Maunsell, Phelps, Hart, Tunnicliffe, Hutchison, Williams (2). W. Ticehurst, F. Fairbrother and F. Beechey.
