Results:— Goldsborough Handicap Sylvrie 1, Coxswain 2, Salaam 3. Telegraph Handicap— Contingent 2, Silent Member 2, Hillspring 3. Hokitika Handicap— Sylvrie 1, The Orient 2, Armaraento 3. Welter Handicap— Ruapehu 1, Salaam 2, Hamua 3. Fina' Handicap— Hillspring 1, Coxswain 2, Silent Member 3. The sum of £5,781 went through the totalisator during the two days.
By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., January 5. S. Reid, the well-known rider, has been appointed private trainer to Mr iD. Euick's horses. He will retain his riding license, and ride when the weight serves. Reid will take up his new position after the Wellington .meeting.
Our Pahiatua correspondent telephones that up till 9 o'clock last night the nominations received for the Pahiatua Racing Club's meeting totalled 265, or 29 more than last year.
