SUICIDE.
By Telegraph —Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, January 4.
Thomas Margetts, 59 years of age, residing at 160 Moorehouse Avenue, committed suicide, yesterday, by shooting himself. It ' appears that about 4 p.m. he left his house and did not return, and about 5.40 o'clock this morning his wife found him lying dead in the workshop. She sent for Dr. Talbot, who on arrival pronounced life to be extinct. A five-chambered revolver was found lying alongside the body. An inquest was held at the morgue this afternoon by Mr A. W. Bishop, District Coroner. After hearing the evidence of Mrs Margetts and Sergeant Keep the coroner recorded a verdict that the deceased committed suicide, but that there was no evidence to show his state of mind at the time.
