Constable Doyle, who for sixteen months past has been stationed at Masterton, has received notice that he is to be transferred to Wei lington, for which place he> will leave about the end of the month. (Constable Doyle is one of the most efficient and popular officers ever appointed to Masterton, and. his departure will ( be generally regretted. He took a Keen interest in athletic matters, and was a valued member of the Masterton Association Football Club, for which he played Ihsc season. '
Mr (j. Tullv, who for some years acted ior the vVairarapa Racing Club, but who relinquished the office through leaving the district recently, was presented with a handsome pair of'field glasses at a meeting of the Stewards of the Club on the course ar Tauherenikau yesterday. Mr H. S. Wardell, President ot the Club, made the presentation, expressing the high esteem in which Mr Tully was held by his brother official?. Mr W. E. Bid will, Vice-President, also made a few complimentary remarks. Mr Tully briefly responded, after which the toast of his health was honoured.
