THE PIRI PIRI BLOCK.

By Telegraph—Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, December 30. The ballot for the Piri Pirjjjj; block of 5,080 acres, in the immediate vicinity of Dannevirke, takes place at Dannevirke to-morrow. There are some 650 applicants for 43 sections,, the applicants hailing from all parts of the Dominion. The Land Board is to-day engaged irJMpmining applicants, and the towljjP full of strangers who have come for that purpose. The land is ideal dairy country, and its settlement will give a creat fillip to the town and district. The balance of the Piri Piri block, some 6,000 acres, is at present rei served to conserve the milling rights, and will be put on the market later on.
