LONDON, December 28
Mrs Earls, who was concerned in the mysterious affair at Howth in November, has been found drowned.
The first cablegram received relative to the H i'wth mystery stated that Mrs Lloyd, the wife of an official employed in the Dublin Post Office, and her sister, Mrs Earls, were walking by the cliffs at Howth (a rocky eminence in Dublin Bay), when two men demanded money from them. They refused to comply with the demand, and the men then seised the two women and threw them over the cliffs. Mrs Lloyd was killed outright, and her sister was found in a fainting condition. At the inquest the husband of Mrs Lloyd stated that he believed his wife fell over the cliff whiie attempting to prevent Mrs Earls from committing suicide. A doctor confirmed this theory, and the jury returned an open verdict.
