Joseph Racke, who is an undergraduate of Bonn University, and son of a millionaire at Mayence, spent Christmas at his home. He rose at 2 o'clock in the morning, and stealthily stabbed to death, while they were sleeping, his father and three sisters, but the remainder of the household were undisturbed. Racke returned to his room and slept until discovery in the morning. The crime is attributed to his father refusing to give Racke large sums of money.
