PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH. OTACO v. AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 29. The Otago-Auckland Interprovincial match was resumed to-day in showery weather before an attendance of about 1,500. Later in the day the weather cleared, and Auckland resumed batting, being finally disposed of for 196. Relf played a fine innings for 64. Robineon 23 and Sale 22 also playing useful innings. Fisher bowled splendidly, coming out with the fine average of 5 wickets for 50 runs.

Otago hi's made a bad start in the second innings, four wickets being lust in compiling 70 runs. Wilson 28 was the principal contributor. Victoria, in the first innings, made 369. Ransford 94, MacAlister 79, Carroll 60, Laver 35, Hazlitt not out 27, Warne 27. McArtney took one wicket for 41, Emery three for 115, Cotter 2 for 82, Hopkins 4 for 56. New South Wales, which compiled 176 in the first innings, made 146 in the second innings. Bardsley 31 and McArtney not out 39 were the chief scorers. Vernon took 3 wickets for 50 runs, Laver 2 for 25, Saunders 2 for 27, and Hazlitt 2 for 26. Victoria won by an innings and 47 runs.

It is understood that a match will be played on Thursday between a Master ton team and the Manawatu team, which recently played a game at Masterton.
