MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of Managers of the Masterton: Technical School was held last evening, there being present Messrs E. Feist (Chairman), E. H. Waddington, J. B. Keith, J. M. Coradine and W. H. Jackson. The Treasurer reported as follows:—Balance at meeting, £7B 7s9d; receipts since last meeting, £IBB 10s; dr. balance at date, £3 19s 4d. A letter was received from the Masterton Borough Council stating that the Council were prepared to supply gas free of charge if the Managers would erect a lamp in front of the new Technical School. The Education Department wrote stating that capitation to the amount of £4fi lis had been passed in connection with the technical and continuation classes at the Masterton Technical School for the period ending 3rd December, 1908. The sum of £ll6 13s 4d was received from the Treasury, being the subsidy on the voluntary contributions to the funds of the Masterton Technical Classes Association. On the motion of Mr Keith, it was decided to write to the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association and ascertain what assistance the Association were prepared to oifer is the establishment of woolclassing cla?s3S in conneition wi h the Technical School.

The question of erecting a lamp in front of the Technical School was deferred until a later date, as the Borough Council could not see its way to supply the lamp, and it vas decided that the Council be written to asking them to reconsider tbur decision in chat connection.

The question of fixing a date for examining students for promotion was held over for discussion until next meeting. On the motion of Mr Coradine, it was decided that Messrra Feist and Jackson be a committee to draw up a schedule of duties, and also to fix a salary for the Custodianship otf the new Technical School, and that applications be then called fur the position. Accounts amounting to £lB5 8s were passed for payment.
