RACING. pahiatua racing club. WHOLESALE DISQUALIFICATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association, AUCKLAND, December 20. As a result of the enquiry by the stewards of the Avondale Jockey Club in connection with their recent spring meeting, the following disqualificatinus have been inflicted: — S. G. Lindsay, owner, M. Ryan, rider, and the horse Royal Soult, two years; A. Whittaker, rider of Lucio, two years; G. Pell, twelve months; A. Julilan, six months; P. Smith, owner of Talepitcher and Snowfoot, under rule 33, six months; N. Cunningham, trainer, and the horse Lucio ,for life. THE VILLIERS STAKES. Received December 19, 8.7 p.m. SYDNEY, December 19. The Villiers Stakes resulted: — Virtu, 1; Roseray, 2; Lady Ruenalf, 3. Thirteen starters. Won easily by four lengths. Time, lmin 38|sec. The annual race meeting of the Club is announced to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, January 27th and 28th. Liberal stakes have been attached to the whole sixteen events, and the nominations are sure to be large. The Pahiatua Club is one of the most progressive in the Dominion, and the meetings are a big draw for the public. Nominations for all events will close with the Secretary (Mr G. L. Hawley Drew) on Tuesday, January sth.
