A GALLANT RESCUE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, December 20. The Ururoa, »'hich is ashore, does not appear to be badly injured. It is thought she may be refloated when the sea moderates. The rescue of Captain Harris was a very gallant affair. A small band headed by John McFarlane, a well-known 'ocal sailmaker, made several attempts to reach the Ururoa in a ship's boat. They were capsized on several occasions during the afternoon, and though they got alongside the scow twice they were driven away by the sea, which was very heavy. Just after dark they made a determined effort and succeeded.
