O GENERAL SIMON ELECTED PRESIDENT.
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Dec. 18. General Simon has been peacefully elected President of Hayti.
General Simon headed a rebellion against the late President General Alexis, who was deposed. The latter narrowly escaped assassination before he found refuge on a French cruiser.
