THE SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
WEBS MAY TRY AGAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, December IP. Speaking at a banquet on Thursday night, W. Webb said that he had not yet given up all hope of regaining th.2 championship. He was going into training, and if he could get sufficient pace he might issue a challenge to Arnst. It is now openly said in town that Webb was suffering from rheumatism in the arm on the day of the race, and that his condition had caused anxiety for some time past. Webb, however, gives no authority for this rumour, and states that he was beaten by a better man. A private letter, received from Sydney to-day, states that a rumour was current on the other side last week that Webb was suffering from rheumatism in the left arm.
