MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of woo!, skins arid hides yesterday in our Chapel street store, when we offered 60 bales and 120 bags wool, 2800 sheepskins, 500 hides and a quantity of tallow. Competition for all lines was brisk at current rates. We quote—Wool: Medium crossbred 5d to 6|d, inferior 4|d, pieces and locks lid to 3d, crutchings 3d, dhad 41 to 51d, lambs 42d. Suins: Fine crossnred s£d, medium 4Jd to 5Jd, dead skins 3d to 32d, dead hoggets 3d to 3|d, lambs 3£d, inferior pelted and short to 3!d. Tallow—Kegs 20s, tins 17s 6d to 18s, rough fat 14s 9d to 15s 6d. Hides: Ox 4d, cow 32d, to 4d, cut and slippy 2fd to 3id, bull 3Jd, calf best 6|d, medium 6d, inferior 31d to 4d.. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, January 27th, 1909, at 1 p.m. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-oper-ative Association, Ltd., and Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We hell our monthly sale of wool,; skins and hides yesterday (Wednesday,) offering 40 bales, and 100 bags of wool, 2,000 sheepskins and 500 hides ar.d calfskins. We have to report a rather small attendance of buyers, owing to a large wool sale in Napier. Nevertheless competition was brisk, and the majority of the vendors' prices were realised. We quote:—Wool 1 Fleece 5Jd to 6d, medium 4d to sd, dead wool 4|d to 51d, lambs sd, crutchings 3d to 31d, pieces and bellies 2id to 3d, locks 2d to 2Jd. Skins: Crossbred, fine 5Jd, medium 4id to sd, dead skins 31 d to 3gd, hoggets, medium 3|d to 4£d, damp skins 3s 8d each. Hides: Cow 3fd to 41d, cow, inferior 3Jd to 31d, ox hides 4£d, yearling, medium 3d to 3|d, calfskins, best 6|d, medium 61d, cut 4£-d.
