FIRE AT LITCHFIELD.
AN OLD LANDMARK DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, December 14. Ashley and Sons' store at Litchfield was completely destroyed by fire on Saturday night. The building was an old landmark, with a dwelling attached, and was erected 40 years ago. The fire had a strong hold before it was discovered, and in a short time the building was destroyed. No insurances are available. Stock destroyed is estimated to be worth £450.
